This exhibit provides an immersive experience that places children and families in Colonial America/Philadelphia in the 1770s. Historic landmarks in Philadelphia’s “Old City” served as inspiration for the exhibit’s look/feel, exhibit components, and story line.

Our founder, Alan Metcalfe, who – in one quick bite – will explain what inspires his designs.

A message from Alan and Aaron about our expanding leadership team.

What it means to really listen when designing schools

What makes a great learning environment? Hear from Metcalfe on what we have discovered about how children learn via projects like Community Partnerships School, Mastery School, and Settlement Music School.

Despite all the downs 2020 provided us with, we wanted to celebrate our ups!

... so what's keeping you up at night?

From Germantown to Devil’s Pocket, Mt. Airy to Manayunk, the Metcalfe staff has a clear appreciation of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and eccentricities – and a deep love for the place they work and (most of us) live.
