Celebrating its 15th anniversary this summer, “Out on a Limb” continues to invite visitors to stop, listen, learn, and see the environment with fresh eyes.

An interview with Metcalfe’s Senior Exhibit Designer, Katy Blander. Katy came to the Metcalfe team in 2012, continuing a 20-year career in exhibition design and interactive and print graphics. Katy’s creative talents extend outside the office. She is a children’s book illustrator and a textile artist, and has a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Temple University, occasionally dusting off the keyboard for fun.

Along with play, experimentation, investigation, and learning, empathy is an important component when designing for patient safety and recovery. Explore with us how Hayley’s childhood experiences help her advocate for empathetic design in the healthcare world.
