Hayley Freilich, PMP
Director of Healthcare & Patient Experience

Hayley comes to Metcalfe in 2016 with 10 years of professional experience in design and the healthcare industry — and 30+ years as a patient in pediatric and adult healthcare settings due to her own complex medical history. This dual perspective allows her to make truly empathetic and informed design choices to transform the typical hospital setting into a welcoming, healing space. Her philosophy is that the built environment can be an enriching and impactful part of the overall patient experience and healing process. Her approach to design is deeply influenced by her thorough understanding of patient and family-centered care.

Prior to joining Metcalfe in 2016, Hayley worked as a designer and project manager for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Much of her time was dedicated to managing CHOP’s entire wayfinding and signage systems – a critical part of the visitor experience.

Hayley earned her Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design and Photography from Pennsylvania State University in 2006 and has held her Project Management Professional certification since 2011.
