This family-friendly exhibition celebrates the Academy of Natural Sciences’ (ANS) bicentennial, showcasing its ground-breaking science and highlighting its vast collection of specimens.
A series of immersive environments take visitors behind the scenes with ANS scientists working around the world today—from the Mongolian steppes, to the Bahamian coral reef, to the Marcellus Shale region of Pennsylvania.
In the center of the exhibit hall are touchable treasures, including a 400-pound meteorite, brain coral, and a whale jaw. An 80-foot-long wall of specimens describes the enormous array of life on the planet.
