Pine Crest School is currently engaging with Metcalfe to develop master plans for their two campuses to identify culturally significant events, prioritize campus concerns, and develop new and improved campus experiences.
Pine Crest consists of two large campuses—one a PreK-12th grade school in Fort Lauderdale and the other PreK-8th grade in Boca Raton—with almost 2,700 students. Through active engagement sessions, on-campus surveys, interviews, and conversations, our team worked with school leadership, staff, administration, security, and students to understand their culture and see the campuses through their eyes to discover where the hearts of campus and culturally significant places are, determine which areas may need to be reconsidered, and which need to be completely rethought.
With this information we are currently working with the school to develop new and improved experiences that consider their campus arrival, their buildings, their pathways, the spaces between buildings, informal learning and social spaces, and open spaces.
We are working with Donna Zalecky from DMZ Planners on space utilization and facilities planning for their two campus.
“[Metcalfe’s] visionary design and thoughtful execution . . . reflects an unparalleled understanding of both the architectural and educational needs of independent schools . . . [and] results in environments that not only inspire but also enhance the teaching and learning experience.”
Dr. Dana Markham, President, Pine Crest Preparatory School
