Historic Site Master Plan, West Overton Village

Scottdale, PA

West Overton Village is a historic site in Western PA. It is the birthplace of Henry Clay Frick, making it central to the story of industry in the United States.

It is also the original home of Old Overholt rye whiskey, so it holds an equally central place in the history of distilling in this country.

They hired Metcalfe, along with Pashek + MTR Landscape Architects, and Drexel University Lenfest Center for Cultural Partnerships to create a comprehensive site master plan and interpretive plan for the visitor experience. Together, we created a vision for an immersive experience blending social and industrial history in a contemporary and sustainable context. Phase one of the master plan is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2022.
