As studio director, Chris has overview of all Metcalfe projects and staffing, helping each team to meet their goals creatively and efficiently. He also contributes to the development of select projects, designing diverse social experiences for museums, schools, outdoor environments and performance spaces. Among these are The Yard at Citizens Bank Park, Dow Gardens/Whiting Forest, Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat, Camden Historical Society, Camden Shipyard + Maritime Museum, and the award-winning Out on a Limb Tree Canopy Walk at the University of Pennsylvania’s Morris Arboretum.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture at Philadelphia University, where he had the opportunity to teach design studios for 17 years. He continues to be an instigator in architectural education in the region as a design studio guest juror at Temple, Drexel, University of the Arts and Philadelphia University. Chris often volunteers his time for community work through design services with various organizations.
